Greetings!

Welcome to the September 2010 ES newsletter and welcome to National Preparedness Month. Experts say "it's not if, but when" so get ready now and prepare your family to be ready in 2010.

During Preparedness month, we'll be offering literally dozens of events aimed at preparing the 3.9 million people living in Southeastern Pennsylvania for emergencies of all kinds.

The 685 disasters our Chapter responded to in the past year serve as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. They also demonstrate the commitment of the Red Cross and its Emergency Services team to respond quickly to help people impacted by disasters large and small.

Thanks for giving your volunteer time, treasure and expertise to the American Red Cross and the people we serve. Because of you we are able to make a difference. It's a privilege to work with all of you.

Gratefully,

Donna Palmieri
Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO
